About this deal

THAT incident is mentioned - briefly and simply as the time Ant wasn't on TV. I certainly didn't expect gory details to be raked over, but it might have been interesting to hear more about how Dec had to pivot his entire career pretty much instantly to keep three of the nations biggest shows on air solo for the first time, especially in a book about your time on TV. My favorite part was when they confronted Simon Cowell about how unhappy they were at one point doing Britain’s Got Talent and I very much agreed with their thoughts, and glad SC felt the same and did something to change it, just shows how good these two that SC is willing to change something in the show so he won't lose them.

Don't get me wrong, it's mildly entertaining but you won't learn much - it's like an evening with Ant and Dec, where they wheel out plenty of tried and true anecdotes you probably have heard before if you're a longtime fan - especially if you read their 2009 autobiography. Harrison, Ellie (12 November 2019). "Ant and Dec discover they are cousins in DNA Journey documentary". The Independent . Retrieved 22 October 2023. In 2020, they celebrated 30 years of working together, releasing a book titled Once Upon A Tyne. It featured stories from their time as a duo and from behind the scenes of their shows. [40] OBEs [ edit ] Ant & Dec left from children's television in 2001 after trying out formats like Friends Like These for BBC One in 2000 and Slap Bang with Ant & Dec for ITV in 2001. Although McPartlin had gained some television experience with a brief stint on the children's television series Why Don't You?, which was broadcast on the BBC, Donnelly was the first of the two to acquire his place on the BBC children's drama Byker Grove. He joined in 1989, playing Duncan. A year later, McPartlin joined the cast to play PJ (series 2, episode 5). Their friendship began when their storylines collided, creating a friendship both on and off-screen. [8] Byker Grove producer Matthew Robinson told them to "Stay together through any row you have, whatever it is, be together and you could be the future Morecambe and Wise. I think they have proved that in many ways." [9]Donnelly, Declan; McPartlin, Anthony; Pullman, Bill; Otto, Götz (7 April 2006), Alien Autopsy , retrieved 30 April 2017 We are delighted that through the launch of their fantastic new book and by donating their author proceeds to the NSPCC, Ant and Dec are helping to protect more children and raise vital awareness of Childhood Day. If you had told the 14-year-old us that we’d still be working together on some of the biggest TV shows in the world, we’d have laughed you out of Byker Grove,” Ant says. In February 2022 the pair released the charity single "We Werk Together", written by Ian Masterson, with RuPaul's Drag Race UK winners The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney and Krystal Versace with the proceeds from the single going to the Trussell Trust. The song was performed on the first episode of the eighteenth series of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway as the "End of the Show" Show, introduced by RuPaul. From their modest beginnings in 'Byker Grove' through through to their 'unique' time as pop stars and an award-laden TV career, those three decades have flown by in the blink of an eye. They've also featured an incredible cast of supporting characters, including their first scriptwriter - (an unknown comedian called David Walliams), Saturday night fun and games with countless Hollywood A-listers and celebrities they torture - sorry, work with - every year in the jungle. Told through the lens of every TV show they've made, as well as everything they've learnt along the way, this is the riotously funny journey of two ordinary lads from Newcastle who went on to achieve extraordinary things. No I'm not obsessed. It's fascinating. I mean, the bond, the love for each other, the friendship, it's unlike any other. Then I'll ask myself which one I like best, because I'll watch a clip and I'll find Dec so adorable but then the next one, Ant's puns will be so hilarious, I'll have to ask myself again. As NSPCC Ambassadors for Childhood, we wanted to show our support for this fantastic charity and their vital work.”

What the NSPCC say about Ant and Dec’s Propa Happy

I was binge-watching Chatty Man, Graham Norton show, Friday night with Jonathan Ross and yes, BGT (don't ask, I'm just really in the brit-show phase right now), and I was drawn to these people who are always making people laugh; David Walliams and Ant&Dec most especially. I think I've watched all the interviews with them on youtube and I bought and finished Camp David last week (I'm still thinking if I'll do a review on that one, it's just so sad).
