About this deal

Grayson Hawthorne was arrogant enough to consider himself bulletproof—and honorable enough to see a promise through to its end.” ~ 😏😏 Now poor Avery has to live in Hawthorne Manor with the very same grandsons who were all but cut out of the elder Hawthorne's will. That isn't awkward at all. okay here it goes. the romance. yes this is what i want to talk about. i have a problem with how jennifer wrote the love triangle. While the first book, The Inheritance Game, gets you up to speed on all that, this second book builds on the mystery of Avery's windfall, as well as a building of the relationships within her new world.

i just want to end this review talking about my gray obsession. to say he deserves better is honestly such an understatement. this man deserves more than better after EVERYTHING…are you kidding me!??😭😭 I loved Avery in the first book and I loved her even more here like !! the character development !! She goes through some growth by the end of the book and just sfsdfsdfs I loved it. Still really jealous that she has the attention of both Grayson and Jameson😭 Oh and also how she can literally say "Fine, you can take one of my planes." Not jealous about the downsides of being a billionaire though. I loved that the brothers finally found their bliss in the end but it took that major bombshell from Avery to push them in that direction. Should she have asked the family what to do with that money? Or taking that bold choice was right? If only what Avery did in the book at the end was something all billionaires did in real life - maybe the world would be a better place. I had a lot of fun with this continuation. The Hawthorne Legacy may not be perfect, but it's pretty freaking fun. Thanks for being exactly like Tobias Hawthorne miss Jennifer Lynn Barnes, you took a character everyone adores and twisted his personality into someone who's absolutely frustrating or unlovable. JLB knew that the character holds a special place in the majority of the fans' hearts but you'll find your heart breaking for him, not in a good way. JLB played us fans like pawns in her own game.

Grayson Hawthorne was arrogant enough to consider himself bulletproof—and honorable enough to see a promise through to its end.” This was the Grayson I’d met weeks ago: dripping power and well aware that he could come out on top in any battle. He didn’t make threats, because he didn’t have to.” ~ fangirling!!! 😩😩 one word. mine. and yes if were confused…he’s what i loved most about this book. this man constantly gives me the “who did this to you” vibes and that is my WEAKNESS. that’s how i knew this man was going to win me over. also he knows how to play one of my favorite games, catan, and he’s good at it!? oh to be able to play against him. gray being vulnerable🥺ugh my heart ached for him.

I was team averygrayson from book one and while I don’t necessarily feel the same way right now, it has everything to do with the way Avery and Jameson work better together as a couple, than I think Avery and Grayson ever could. I couldn’t see it in book one but it was pretty evident in book two. The Hawthorne Legacy was one of my most anticipated releases of 2021, just like The Inheritance Games was one of my most anticipated releases of 2020. There’s a lot to love about this duology; from the character dynamics to how it constantly keeps you on your toes. It also requires a lot of brain power (not really, but if you’re like me and live in detective mode then you better pay attention to EVERYTHING). i glance toward the pool. there's a toddler balanced precariously on the edge. she leans forward, topples over, and goes under, and doesn't come up. before i can move or even yell, grayson is running. in one liquid motion, he dives into the pool, fully clothed." Grayson- It hurts me so much to say that JLB destroyed his character COMPLETELY. The way Grayson acted throughout the book was very inconsistent to his personality. You will question that a lot when you read it. Even if you're not "Team Grayson" it'll be crystal clear.

I am so intrigued with what the truth is behind this family. I love the continuation of the use of riddles and games, as well as Avery getting the chance to team up with the brothers to solve different aspects of the mystery. Book Genre: Contemporary, Fantasy, Fiction, Mystery, Mystery Thriller, Romance, Thriller, Young Adult
